Municipal & Government Water Treatment
Providing pure, safe water to an entire community is an enormous responsibility, to say the least. Given all the possible impurities that can exist in the water supply—from unwanted mineral content to harmful chemicals and bacteria—local governments face a difficult task in making sure the water delivered to their residents is safe for drinking, cooking and bathing. At Metro Water Filter, we are well aware of the many potential hazards found in the water supply, and we are able to assist in designing and installing filtration solutions tailor-made to the needs of the local community.
Common issues in the water supply
Every water supply is different in the challenges it presents, which is why one filtration solution does not fit every situation. That is why we test the water supply for specific issues and design a customized solution to fit. Here are just a few of the more common water purity issues we can solve:
- Acidic water
- Sedimentary particulates (like soil and rust)
- Harmful bacteria (like E. Coli)
- Toxic chemicals like arsenic, mercury, lead and others
- Nitrate/Nitrite (from pesticides and herbicides in the ground water)
- Sulfur
How we solve the problems
Based on our findings in testing the water supply, we can design a filtration system that may include any of the following:
- Iron Filters
- Acid Filters/Soda Ash Feeders (to raise the pH of water and resolve acidity)
- Sediment/Particulate Filters
- Disinfection Systems (Ultraviolet or light chlorination to remove harmful bacteria)
- Carbon Filters (helps remove sediment, odor and taste, as well as removing a wide array of harmful chemicals)
- Water Conditioners (removes hardness minerals from the water)
- …and other components according to specific need
